Shidaa African Culture Project (shidaafricult@yahoo.com) believes in teaching traditional West African culture through drum/dance, fabric printing using Adinkra symbols, drum making, beading, and cooking. We specialize in conducting workshops and residencies for schools and community groups throughout Vermont, New England, and the Northeast.
We are a group of West African Artists and instructors, certified by the Vermont Arts Council to:
- Share the traditional values and cultural practices of various tribes of Ghana and West Africa, through Arts education and workshops
- Spread the knowledge and techniques of anglophone as well as francophone West African drum/dance rhythms, which hitherto were unknown in Vermont
